Overview
tripee is an XR metaverse trip plan platform that strives to connect the excitement of travel from the planning stage to the actual journey. Users can collect, upload trip information from both the metaverse and their mobile devices to collaboratively edit travel plans. Once the plan is complete, they can enjoy their travels simply with a moblie app.
My Role
Contributed to creating the whole service concept. Managed all the intuitive interactions throughout the whole service. Prototyped major service scenes where users communicate and share their info, using Meta quest pro.

VR Spaces : Square & Plan room
Users can explore trip information in the ‘square,’ a theme park concept open space. They communicate, share, experience, and even collect detailed trip information about various countries. Users can share trip information with their crew, in the 'plan room,' a private VR space that is connected through the ferris wheel cabin. They can check various badges and preview their trip with plans they made.

Info Units: Badges
Badges are collectives that users can see anywhere in the service. It represents trip information, include basic info, board, and etc. There are 4 types : landmark, activity, food, and accommodation. Users can experience the info, and collect them anywhere in the world.

AI Companion: Hopee
Hopee, balloon shaped companion, represents user’s trip type. It helps users find appropriate information in the ‘square,' organize infor-mation in the plan room.

Hopees have various roles. They can simulate what users feel about the trip, and show their needs. Hopees can be called on user's hand. They can also act as a main menu. Also, hopees can act as an inventory for users' collected badges.

Exploring information
In the ‘square,’ users can freely communicate and share their information. Also, users can immersively experience popular locations or landmarks while on a ride. Then, they can view and collect various information as badges. Go through reviews, images, etc.

Plan together
In the 'plan room,' users can share their trip information. They can choose the city, check detailed spot information, vote desired places. Lastly, best plan is created from the desired spots and users can preview the details, such as weather, budget, and number of steps, etc.

Trip
Enjoy the trip by simply checking the travel plans made by VR directly sent to your mobile app. You can find the planned spot through AR and check similar spots nearby. Also, users can share their experiences by writing reviews during their trip. The information they shared can be converted into a badge that other travelers can check.

Archive
Create reviews, and keep track of images, videos about the trip. These reviews will turn into new badges that can be redistributed into the 'square.' Then, others can enjoy the badges, and collect them.

Various interactions
Using Unity and XR interaction toolkit, I prototyped various scenes for users to try. The main scenes were, entering in the 'plan room,' creating map, and interacting with the badges to explore the information.

Enter Plan Room
Users can move to VR Plan Room by simply getting on the ferris wheel.

Create Map
Users can select country to create a 3d stylized map. A simple interface shows basic info about the trip users are trying to make a plan.

Hover Over Badges
Users can hover to see simple information about the badge. Simple info include the location's name and ratings.

Check Badge Info
Users can click or throw badges to see detailed information with others.

Preview Trip Route
Users can exclude badges that they do not want, and with the badges that users have confirmed, they can create an optimized route and check various practical information.

Research
In the stage of post-corona, people are starting to make more attempts to create various travel plans. However, there are not many
services that help users gather the right info, try out various plans easily, and co-working the plans in a simple way is nearly impossible.
We conducted 197 basic survey about overall trip experience, 23 deep dive interviews to point out problems when editing trip plans.
To find out various problems in the process of trip that frustrate people, and to find out deeper reasons why people feel that way and how they react to such problems.

Interaction Studies
Conducted body-storming all the interactions that we might use in the service. Tried out various details of the service that might be needed for prototyping.
